California renewable energy installer SolarCity Corp, with operations in Rocky Hill, announced Tuesday its agreement to acquire California solar manufacturer Silevo.
Silevo makes modules that combine high energy output and low cost, making it the ideal product for SolarCity customers, the installer said.
SolarCity operates as a third-party installer, often still owning the solar arrays and then selling the electricity to the owner of the property where the systems are installed.
SolarCity serves 15 states including Connecticut.
