Hartford is the 16th drunkest city in America, judging by its average alcohol consumption, number of heavy drinkers and binge drinkers and the number of people who die from liver disease, according to an online report from The Daily Beast.
The average Hartford drinker consumes 13.23 drinks per month, 15.9 percent of adults are binge drinkers, 6.3 percent are heavy drinkers, and the city has 3.9 deaths from alcoholic liver disease for every 100,000 residents.
No. 1 on The Daily Beast list is Milwaukee followed by Fargo, N.D. and San Francisco.
Hartford ranked just after Toledo, Ohio and just before Tampa, Fla.
Burlington, Vt. was the highest ranking New England city (at No. 6) followed by Boston (No. 8), Providence, (13), Portland (18) and Springfield, (31).
