Smith Brothers Insurance of Glastonbury has purchased the assets of Bayberry Insurance of Groton. It is the seventh insurance agency the company has bought since 2012 and the third in the last 12 months alone.
Jared Carillo, Smith Brothers’ director of foundation accounts, said, “Southeastern Connecticut is an excellent market for our services; our strategy is to continue expanding in Connecticut and into Massachusetts.
Since 2012, Smith Brothers has added affiliates across Connecticut, including:
- Archambault Insurance, in Chester
- Atlantic Insurance, in Niantic
- Camilleri & Clarke, in Greater Hartford
- Carillo & Howland, in Windsor Locks and Somers
- Elliott Insurance, in Greater Hartford
- McMahon Company, in Greater Hartford
Bayberry Insurance will operate as an affiliate of Smith Brothers Insurance and will maintain their Groton office. Smith Brothers is one of the largest independently operated insurance and financial service organizations in New England, with offices in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
