Glastonbury-based Smith Brothers Insurance is expanding with the acquisition of an independent insurance agency in Worcester, Massachusetts, Rawson & Sons Insurance Group.
Rawson & Sons will maintain its local presence and the company’s founder, Rich Rawson, will continue working in business development, sales and client service.
All Rawson & Sons team members will be joining Smith Brothers, according to the announcement.
“We look forward to working together and also expanding on what Rich Rawson has built, in servicing the mortgage broker and real estate community, to provide responsive services to help them do their business easier and faster,” said Joe B. Smith, president & CEO of Smith Brothers.
Smith Brothers, which is independently operated and licensed in every state, has more than 200 employees and offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
Smith Brothers was founded in Hartford in 1971 by brothers Bob and Brian Smith.
