Connecticut’s electric utilities are kicking off the second round of the state’s small Zero-emissions Renewable Energy Credit program on Friday.
The small portion of the ZREC program gives renewable installations of less than 100 kilowatts a chance to receive 15-year contracts to sell their renewable credits to utilities Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating.
All of the contracts in the first round went to solar projects.
In the second round of the program, renewable installers have a two-week window to submit their applications for the contracts. At the end of the window, the utilities will pick using a random drawing.
