Mohegan Sun said Monday that its slot revenues rose in April for the second consecutive month, while its nearby rival Foxwoods Resort Casino said its revenues declined.
Mohegan Sun posted a 3.9 percent increase in slot revenue in April, its second increase for 2017, according to the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority.
The Uncasville casino reported slot revenue of $52.9 million for the month, compared to $50.9 million in April 2016.
The amount slot bettors wagered in March, known as the “handle,” was $642.4 million, an increase of 3.5 percent from $620.2 million a year ago.
At Foxwoods, slot revenue dropped 3 percent, to $39.4 million for the month, compared to $40.7 million a year ago, despite increasing in March. Its handle increased 2.9 percent, however, to $510.5 million, compared to $496.3 million a year ago.
Mohegan Sun paid $13.2 million to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in April. Foxwoods paid $10.5 million to the state last month.
