Six more CT nursing homes up for bid

A court-appointed receiver has placed six more Connecticut nursing homes with nearly 800 beds on the auction block.

Receiver Phyllis Belmonte is offering the homes once owned by defunct Marathon Healthcare Group to   the highest bidder. Bid deadline is April 22.

The Marathon Healthcare Center of Norwalk, licensed for 150 beds; New Haven, with 150 beds; Prospect, with 150 beds; Torrington, with 90 beds; Waterbury, with 150 beds; and West Haven, with 98 beds. The homes have been in receivership since late December, when the Marathon chain folded.

Belmonte also is overseeing the auction of three nursing homes in Danielson, Norwich and Windham. Bids for those homes are due April 14.
