A six-building, 75-unit apartment complex in Newtown’s Sandy Hook neighborhood has sold for $24 million, according to property records.
The buyer of the property at 1-6 Farrell Court was Independence Square LLC, which is controlled by David Slomin, of New Jersey. Slomin is the president of New York-based Andover Properties, according to his LinkedIn profile.
An email to Slomin was not immediately returned. Andover Properties owns more than 170 commercial properties across the U.S., according to its website.
The seller is Farrell Communities at Sandy Hook LLC, which is controlled by Brian Farrell, of New York. He is an attorney with Farrell Communities, which owns hundreds of homes and businesses and has a portfolio of over $3 billion, according to the company’s website.
The complex, which contains 88,035 square feet of space across one-, two- and three-story buildings on 11.75 acres, was built in 2020 and 2021.
It has five apartment buildings and a clubhouse. It is appraised at $11.2 million and assessed at $7.8 million.
