UTC Aerospace Systems has signed a 12-year agreement with Singapore Airlines to provide asset management and repair services for the airline’s fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft. The long-term maintenance agreement is part of UTC Aerospace Systems’ Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program.
Singapore Airlines Cargo also selected UTC Aerospace Systems to deliver freighter common turntables for their Boeing 747-400 freighters, installed with Legacy Goodrich Power Drive Units.
UTC Aerospace Systems has had C.A.R.E. programs in place with Singapore Airlines to support multiple components on the airline’s Boeing 777, Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 fleets since 2008.
The freighter common turntable uses new technologies to improve cargo loading and unloading while increasing commercial revenue flight time. The company said this is achieved through the turntable’s ability to steer, brake, stop and drive cargo, all in one package.
UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of Farmington-based United Technologies Corp.
