The town of Simsbury has leased its 38-acre public farm to nonprofit Community Farm of Simsbury Inc.
Community Farm will teach students and volunteers from the Farmington Valley and Hartford how to use sustainable farming practices to grow affordable produce.
Restaurants and bakeries, such as the Firebox and Billings Forge in Hartford, plan to incorporate the Simsbury farm’s agriproducts on their menus.
The property was originally deeded to the town in 1884 by Amos Eno.
An opening celebration for the farm lease will be scheduled at a later date.

Windsor Animal Clinic
A 10,000-square-foot veterinary hospital is under construction in Windsor to replace its existing location across the street at 960 Kennedy Road.
Work on the new Kennedy Road Veterinary Clinic began July 1 and is scheduled for completion by December.
Borghesi Building & Engineering Co. of Torrington is the contractor.
The single-story brick hospital will complement its veterinary services with full cancer treatment, radiation capability and emergency services.

Macy’s Site Leased
Capewell Components Co. LLC has leased 12,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space at 255 Nutmeg Road South in South Windsor from Macy’s Co.
The South Windsor manufacturer of life support and aerial delivery equipment for aerospace and defense opened the facility for its Capewell division on July 1. Sentry Commercial represented Capewell in the lease.

Storage Space Leased
Precision Mechanical Services has leased 1,500 square feet of newly constructed warehouse space at 132 Chestnut St. in Branford for storage.
The landlord is Lakeview Construction.
The Geenty Group Realtors in Branford represented both parties in the lease.

The Exchange Adds Tenants
The Exchange office building in Farmington has signed three new tenants for a combined 4,155 square feet.
The Lupus Foundation of America Inc. leased 1,240 square feet.
Dr. Alok Bhargava, a pediatric neurologist, signed for 1,016 square feet; and real estate law firm Bendett & McHugh leased 1,899 square feet in the building at 270 Farmington Ave., across from the University of Connecticut’s John Dempsey Hospital.
Jones Lang LaSalle represented landlord New Boston Fund in lease negotiations.
