Norwalk office refi

The Boston landlord who bought a Norwalk office building last summer is using proceeds from a recent $14.5 million financing package to upgrade the property, authorities say.

Rhode Island lender Washington Trust said its commercial realty unit provided financing to deed holder DIV 40 Richards LLC to make over the 147,000-square-foot building acquired last July at 40 Richards Ave.

Amenities will include an expanded café, upgraded common areas, a new fitness center and shuttle service to the commuter rail station, the lender said.

DIV 40 is a unit of Boston realty developer-landlord The Davis Companies (TDC), owner of more than 10 million square feet in 17 states.

The Norwalk property is part of TDC’s $413.5 million real estate fund, Davis Investment Ventures Fund II LP, officials said.
