Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees recently donated over $4,000 to organizations that aid individuals with disabilities or special needs, as part of their employee-funded Caring and Giving Program. The funds will go to Project Genesis, The Matty Fund, New Directions Inc. of North Central CT and Confetti Foundation.
As part of the 70th anniversary of The Hartford's Junior Fire Marshal program, The Hartford is donating $20,000 to the Hartford Public School District and the Hartford Fire Department to educate children about fire safety. The Hartford will also distribute Junior Fire Marshal educational materials to all children in kindergarten through third grade in the Hartford Public School District.
The Connecticut Food Bank received nearly 40,000 pounds of donated pet food from PetSmart, equaling more than 187,000 meals for pets in need. The donations are part of PetSmart's philanthropic Buy a Bag, Give a Meal program.
