A roughly 3,000-square-foot addition to the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center has received zoning approvals from the town and is expected to begin in the fall of 2024 and be completed in the spring of 2025.
The upgrade will transform the facility at 22 Iron Horse Blvd., into a “truly professional venue with all the appropriate infrastructure needed to attract outdoor promoters, rental clients and even enable the SMPAC to affordably produce its own shows,” the applicant, Bill Clegg, project manager with JLC Interiors, wrote.
The project includes dressing rooms, public and private restrooms, office space and “back of house” improvements.
The Planning Commission approved the plans 5-0 at its meeting on Aug. 9. The application has also been approved by the inland wetlands and conservation commissions.
The Planning Commission found the project to be “consistent with the Plan of Conservation and Development.”
