West Hartford’s The Simon Konover Co. has taken over full ownership of several downtown Hartford properties, buying out interests held by prominent developer Phil Schonberger.
Simon Konover said Wednesday it has retained 100 percent ownership of the Hartford properties located at 31-45 Pratt Street, 875-899 Main Street and 40-60 Asylum Street. The properties are owned by three different Konover limited liability companies, which bought out the interests of Schonberger and his partners.
The Pratt Street property houses a mix of office and retail tenants including the Society Room and MetroHartford Alliance. The Main and Asylum Street parcels are surface parking lots. The change in ownership will have no impact on current tenants or land uses, Konover said.
Konover Commercial Corp. will also continue to manage the three properties.
“This undertaking represents our confidence in and continued commitment to downtown Hartford,” said James Wakim, president and chief operating officer of The Simon Konover Company (TSKC). “We believe the assembled properties at Pratt, Main and Asylum Streets present significant opportunity and are well-positioned to prosper as Hartford continues to grow.” (Aug. 29)
