Hamden-based small business lender Community Investment Corp. has named Louis Silva president.
CIC’s board of directors hired Silva to replace outgoing president Mark Cousineau, according to the organization, which aids small business owners with financing through the U.S. Small Business Administration and other non-traditional loan programs. Silva previously served as CIC’s vice president for three years.
“Louis showed leadership through his expansion of relationships, his role in technology implementation and in strategic planning that increased loan production across all programs,” Cousineau said. “I look forward to working with Louis throughout the transition as he positions CIC for its next phase of growth.”
Cousineau, who has also served as CEO of the organization since 1999, will remain as CIC’s chief executive until he retires later this year.
Before he came to CIC, Silva worked in banking for a decade, most recently with Webster Bank. Silva currently serves on the legislative committee for the National Association of Development Companies NADCO, (the national trade association for SBA 504 lenders).
