Sikorsky Global Helicopters recently delivered an S-300CBi helicopter to Gulf Coast Helicopters, in Pearland, Texas.
Meanwhile, Derco Aerospace in Milwaukee, Wis., has acquired an L-100 Super Hercules, the civilian copy of the military’s venerable C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft, to expand its worldwide aftermarket business. The refurbished and recertified L-100 will eventually be resold.
Prices were not disclosed.
Sikorsky Global and Derco are both units of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., itself a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.
Gulf Coast Helicopters operates eight fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and the new S-300CBi will be its second Sikorsky helicopter. The new helicopter will be used for flight training and pipeline leak detection in the Gulf Coast region. The company also offers charter, aerial survey, emergency response, and pipeline patrol services.
Sikorsky Global Helicopters, a Sikorsky company, produces the S-76, S-92 and H-92 helicopters as well as the S-300C, S-300CBi, S-333, and S-434 light helicopters.
