Helicopter-maker Sikorsky has been awarded a $127 million contract modification to provide spare parts for its HH-60W Jolly Green II Combat Rescue helicopter for the U.S. Air Force.
The HH-60W is the next-generation rescue craft designed to replace the aging HH-60G Pave Hawks. The aircraft is designed to support personnel recovery in hostile territory, medical evacuations and disaster relief.
Sikorsky is currently contracted to build 96 aircraft.
The modification brings the cumulative contract value on the project to $6.44 billion, which is slightly lower than initially projected.
The work will be performed at Sikorsky’s Stratford headquarters and is expected to be completed by March 18, 2030.
The Air Force this month made its first deployment of Jolly Green II helicopters as the 56th Rescue Squadron arrived in Djibouti, East Africa.
