United Technologies Corp.’s $9 billion sale of its Sikorsky helicopter business took a step forward this week, as an anti-trust review period expired, the company said.
A federal anti-trust review period expired late Wednesday, UTC said. The expiration of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act waiting period was one of the conditions of the sale agreement.
Lockheed Martin agreed in July to purchase Sikorsky, with the deal’s planned closing set for the first quarter of 2016.
The acquisition still needs various regulatory approvals, including in Japan and Korea.
