Sikorsky idles 200 workers

Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft announced Friday that it will cut 1 percent of its workforce, idling about 200 workers, The Connecticut Post reports.

Company officials blamed the sagging commercial market for the layoffs.

Sikorsky has more than 20,000 employees around the world, so 1 a percent cut would be more than 200.

The cuts affected salaried positions only. No union employees lost jobs.
