Sikorsky celebrates 300th Navy Seahawk

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Sikorsky Aircraft had a Navy contract for 575 Seahawk helicopters.

Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford has built its 300th MH-60 Seahawk helicopter, edging it closer to filling its current contract to deliver 373 of its upgraded medium-lift rotary warbirds to the U.S. Navy.

Sikorsky and Navy officials plan to celebrate the production milestone Wednesday with a 10:30 a.m. ceremony at Sikorsky’s military helicopter assembly center at 6900 Main St. production plant.

On hand will be Navy Rear Adm. Paul Grosklags, vice commander of the Naval Air Systems Command; Capt. Dean Peters, the Navy’s MH-60 program manager; and Dennis Jarvi, Sikorsky vice president for Navy and Marine Corps programs.
