Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin announced it elected a three-person leadership team consisting of Leander Dolphin, Kent Nevins and James Ruggeri.
They each serve on Shipman’s management committee, according to the firm. They will succeed Alan Lieberman, Shipman’s current managing partner who retire at the end of the year, on Jan. 1.
“Managing a law firm is more complex than ever, with changing technologies, navigating COVID-19’s lasting impact, and focusing on constantly evolving or developing practice areas,” Nevins said. “But it is also a very exciting time to be a part of leadership.”

Nevins’ practice area focuses on large-scale commercial real estate projects with a national scope, while Dolphin focuses on public and private education clients and Ruggeri practices litigation, including trial and appellate general commercial, bankruptcy, and insurance coverage litigation.

“This is a bold move that will take this firm to a new level,” said Lieberman. “The firm is in great hands with these three partners who have a vision and drive for excellence in everything they do.”
