Shipman & Goodwin relocates Stamford offices

Law firm Shipman and Goodwin has moved its Stamford offices to a new building on the city’s Atlantic Street. The firm says the relocation to 400 Atlantic St. better supports its hybrid work culture and team collaboration.

The 17,000-square-foot suite features collaboration-focused spaces, and technology for in-person and remote teamwork.

Shipman has had a presence in Stamford for 30 years. It was previously sited just across Tresser Boulevard at 300 Atlantic St.

“In planning for long-term growth, we’ve prioritized this flexible environment that enables us to adapt, attract top talent, elevate our services and continue to focus on the future of the profession,” said managing partner Leander Dolphin. “This is the primary reason for our move.”

Shipman employs some 140 attorneys across several offices in Connecticut and New York.

Shipman also has offices in Hartford, Stamford, New Haven, New York City, Lakeville and Old Lyme.

Earlier this year, the firm filed suit against its landlord in Constitution Plaza in Hartford, where its head office is located.

It accused the property owner of breaching its lease over numerous building problems that have gone unaddressed.

The case is still active; in June it was transferred from housing court to Superior Court in Hartford.
