Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP received a Corporate Partner Volunteer Award from Hartford nonprofit Hands On Hartford, which provides direct services to people in need by promoting civic engagement and specializes in creating volunteer opportunities for groups of volunteers throughout Greater Hartford.
Shipman & Goodwin was honored for undertaking special community service projects, fielding a team to raise money for HOH’s annual Walk for Hunger, and donating food and money to HOH’s backpack nutrition program and Thanksgiving food drives.
Capital Workforce Partners CEO recognized
The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals has announced that Tom Phillips, president and CEO of Capital Workforce Partners, will be the recipient of its H.G. Weisman Award.Â
The award is given at the discretion of the NAWDP chair and recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the workforce profession.
NAWDP is a national association for individual practitioners in the workforce development field. Capital Workforce Partners is a regional workforce investment board serving 37 municipalities in north central Connecticut.
Rushford associates selected for prestigious awards
Rushford’s addiction medicine fellow Dr. Brian Murray and fellowship director Dr. Samuel Silverman have been selected by the American Board of Addiction Medicine Foundation to receive the Next Generation Award for Adolescent Substance Use Prevention, one of only six awards given nationwide.
The award includes a $25,000 gift to support the completion of Murray’s training. Rushford, a Hartford Healthcare partner, provides inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and mental health services to thousands of children, adolescents, adults and families each year in Wallingford, Middletown, and Glastonbury, among other locations.
IT Direct named top managed services provider
West Hartford IT managed services provider IT Direct was recently ranked among the top 500 managed service providers in the world.
IT Direct was ranked No. 331 out of 501 companies in the MSPmentor 501 ranking for 2014.
The rankings recognize the world’s top 501 managed services providers based on data from a global online survey.
MSPs on this year’s global 501 list raised their combined annual recurring revenues $2.6 billion, continuing seven straight years of growth.
Together, those MSPs now manage over 700,000 servers.
