Shelton’s Sectra selling imaging unit to Philips

Swedish imaging technology firm Sectra Imtec AB, with U.S. headquarters in Shelton, has agreed to sell its mammography imaging business for as much as $100 million to Dutch technology giant Philips Electronics.

The deal includes all of Sectra’s MicroDose Mammography operations globally, except for Australia and New Zealand. Sectra says it will continue to sell and service in those markets.

The takeover is expected to occur during the third quarter.
