Shelton retail electricity supplier Discount Power has named an executive from a local competitor as its new chief operating officer.
Joel Glassman, former director of commercial sales at Norwalk electric supplier Viridian Energy, took over as Discount’s COO on April 1.
Prior to working at Viridian, Glassman was with Massachusetts retail supplier Glacial Energy, where he was senior vice president of power operations and vice president of corporate development.
As an electric supplier, Discount operates in deregulated states, including Connecticut, where ratepayers can choose a retail supplier for their power generation, instead of the local utility.
