Shelton TranSwitch’s 4Q, ’12 net stays red

Shelton multimedia-technology maker TranSwitch Corp. remained in the red in the fourth quarter despite an uptick in sales.

For three months ended Dec. 31, TranSwitch posted a net loss of $3.1 million, or 9 cents a diluted share, down from its year-ago loss of $11.9 million, or 39 cents a share.

Fourth-quarter sales were $5.6 million vs. $4.8 million a year earlier.

For all of 2012, TranSwitch lost $18.2 million, or 55 cents a share, vs. a loss of $22.9 million, or 82 cents a share, in 2011.

Full 2012 sales were $17.9 million vs. $28.3 million a year earlier.
