Shelton fintech startup raises $3.7M

Shelton-based financial planning software startup RightCapital, which specializes in technology aimed at helping advisors create customized financial plans, said it has raised $3.7 million from investors.

New Jersey-based Camellia Venture Capital led the funding round, which closed in December, RightCapital said. The latest investment follows two earlier seed-funding rounds totaling $2.7 million, according to the company.

Launched in 2015, RightCapital says its goal is to simplify the financial-planning experience.

“From the outset, our solution really resonated with advisors and we are gratified to have grown quickly and successfully,” CEO Shuang Chen said in a statement. “This funding round will enable us to continue on that path.”
