NXT-ID, an early stage tech company in Shelton, is now listed on a stock exchange, it announced.
NXT-ID is listed on the OTCQB, which is one of three over-the-counter marketplaces operated by the OTC Markets Group.
The company said it’s developing a biometric electronic wallet — the Wocket — for the mobile commerce market, as well as a platform of mobile security products meant to improve upon low-tech security tactics like PIN numbers.
NXT-ID is already selling a biometric face identification system for law enforcement and others called 3D FaceMatch, which has generated $250,000 in revenue. The company has 22 patent related to facial recognition technology.
NXT-ID has received funding from the quasi-public Connecticut Innovations, and its licensed technologies have historically won more than $30 million from the U.S. Department of Defense and other agencies.
