Shake Shack announced it will open a new location next summer at The Shops at Farmington Valley, the shopping center announced this week.
The burger chain, known for its made-to-order Angus beef burgers and hand-spun milkshakes, will be located across from Mercato Italian Kitchen & Bar within the open-air retail complex on Route 44. The restaurant will feature both indoor and outdoor seating.
The addition continues a string of new tenants at The Shops in 2025, including Sweetgreen, FP Movement, Warby Parker and J.Crew Factory.
The announcement comes as the New York-based chain continues its national expansion. Shake Shack operates more than 620 locations worldwide, including more than 395 in 34 states and Washington, D.C., according to the company.
The Canton location is scheduled to open in 2026, though a specific date has not been announced.
Founded in 2004 in New York City’s Madison Square Park, Shake Shack offers burgers, chicken sandwiches, frozen custard and seasonal items. The company also operates a mobile ordering app for pickup orders.
