• Robyn E. Cottle, staff accountant at Kosovsky, Pratesi & Co. in Farmington, received her Certified Public Accountant certificate from the Connecticut State Board of Accountancy.

• Donna Buchanan, neonatal transport coordinator and transport team leader at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, was named 2008 Direct Care State Nurse of the Year by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services.

• Eleanor Paullis and Rose Sweeney received the 8th annual Peggy and David Hubbard Award from Duncaster in Bloomfield. Paullis, a certified nursing assistant at the Caleb Hitchcock Health Center, was recognized for her generous spirit and acts of kindness with residents. Sweeney, assistant supervisor of dietary aides at the Caleb Hitchcock Health Center, was nominated for her selfless and high standards of service.

• Jason J. Powell, structural engineer in the building services practice group at Wright-Pierce in Middletown, became an accredited professional by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

• Shipman & Goodwin in Hartford donated $25,000 to Trinity College through its Cornerstone Campaign. The funds will support scholarships for Hartford students in need of financial assistance that want to attend the college.

• Denise Worster and Karin Marquis were awarded the 2008 Sherbie Worthen Volunteer Recognition Award from the Connecticut Department of Labor in Wethersfield. They were recognized for their outstanding efforts in raising funds for local charity as co-chairs of the Connecticut State Employees’ Campaign for Charitable Giving.

• James A. Wade, business litigation partner at Robinson & Cole in Hartford, was named to the inaugural “Irish Legal 100” list of the most distinguished and accomplished lawyers of Irish descent in America.
