Sales of single-family homes in Connecticut rose 24.4 percent in September, according to The Warren Group.
The Boston-based publisher of The Commercial Record noted 2,919 sales during the month, up from 2,346 in Sept. 2014.
It was the strongest September for the state’s residential realty market since 2006, and CEO Timothy Warren Jr. said buyers are taking advantage of low prices and interest rates.
The median home price fell 1.4 percent in September, to $244,400. It was the fifth straight month of price declines in Connecticut.
In Hartford County, sales increased 13 percent, to 703, while the median price fell 4 percent, to $215,000. Year to date in the county, sales are up 11 percent and the median price is down 1.5 percent.
