The state Senate is set to vote today on raising the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour over the next three years.
The bill, which has the support of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and the Democratic leadership that controls both chambers, is a follow on to a 2012 law that raised the minimum hourly wage from $8.25 to $8.70 on Jan. 1 and calls for another increase, to $9, at the start of 2015.
The Senate’s vote today, which could be followed by a House vote, would bump the minimum wage to $9.60 in 2016 and $10.10 in 2017.
Both chambers were scheduled to meet at 11 a.m.
