State Sen. Jason Welch (R-Bristol) will conduct a roundtable discussion Thursday with Bristol area manufacturers at Bauer Inc.
Welch said the 9 a.m. meeting at 175 Century Drive will examine the short- and long-term needs of Connecticut manufactures. State and local officials will also be in attendance, his office says.
“These manufacturers are the engines that power our economy,” Welch said in a statement. “State government needs to be doing everything it possibly can to help them retain and create jobs.”
At the state Capitol, Welch says he has been pushing to reduce burdens on employers which increase the cost of labor and prevent new job creation.
Following the roundtable discussion, Welch plans tour Bauer’s aircraft wheel and braking operations and take questions from Bauer employees.
