The National League of Cities, which advocates for municipal governments in 49 states, has selected Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra as co-chair of its task force for the 2016 presidential election, Segarra’s office announced.
The task force will work to inform presidential candidates and campaign staff about topics that are important to cities and to highlight federal partnerships favored by local governments.
Segarra’s fellow co-chairs are Karen Freeman-Wilson, mayor of Gary, Ind., and Betsy Price, mayor of Fort Worth, Texas.
