After awarding $136,000 in grants earlier this month to help businesses, towns and schools install electric vehicle charging stations, Gov. Dannel Malloy opened up a second round of incentives in an announcement today at the International Auto Show in Hartford.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection administers the program, which offers grants between $2,000 and $5,000.
The money is meant to spur private investment in a network of charging stations around the state that has grown to 100.
Funding for the grants comes from an agreement the state reached with Northeast Utilities and NStar that allowed the two to merge.
Applications will be accepted through Dec. 3. More information can be found at www.ct.gov/deep/evconnecticut.
