The XL Center has started a $35 million renovation, and the venue is selling a different sort of seat.
Crews are removing some of the arena’s lower-bowl seats and offering them for sale for $200 a pair to those who prefer a hometown token in their home or office. Those interested can call 860-541-4723 or visit XLCenter.com/Chapter40.
When the work is largely complete in September, XL Center will have a new fan bar, concourse wall, locker rooms, and other amenities. Crews are also making elevator and mechanical improvements.
Work is being done six days a week by Dimeo Construction and 35 other contractors, who are working two shifts in order to complete the work as quickly as possible, according to the Capital Region Development Authority.
