A new $49 million science and laboratory building at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven is Connecticut’s latest LEED Gold facility, SCSU announced.
Completed in 2015, the nearly 104,000-square-foot building received the designation — the second highest available from the U.S. Green Building Council — with a score of 63 out of 110 possible points.
The building was designed by Centerbrook Architects & Planners.
SCSU said the building is expected to save 34 percent on its energy consumption and reduce water use by 20 percent.
