A Hartford organization established to recognize energy efficiency achievements in Connecticut honored Southern Connecticut State University and Milford Public Schools with the top award for innovative approaches and initiatives on June 17.
The Power of Change organization recognized the achievements of more than 20 state agencies and municipalities for efforts on reducing energy spending and greenhouse gas emissions to protect the environment and benefit Connecticut residents.
Individuals, state agencies, and municipalities entered energy efficiency projects in five award categories including Top Building, Innovation, Difference Maker, Performance Contracting, and Breaking Ground. SCSU and Milford both took top honors in the Top Building award.
Recipients of the Power of Change first honors awards include the towns of Bristol,Cheshire, Glastonbury, Milford, and Stamford. Also included is the University of Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut State University, the CT Department of Corrections, the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and the CT Department of Motor Vehicles Earn First Honors.
