SBA seeks nominations for SBIR awards

The U.S. Small Business Administration wants nominations for awards honoring small businesses participating in federally funded research and development.

The SBA’s Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs offer development grants to companies helping solve the problems of specific federal agencies, such as the U.S. Navy or the Department of Energy. The two programs account for $2.5 billion in federal research and development funding.

SBA has three awards for those who play an important role in the promotion and facilitation of this program: one for companies participating in SBIR or STTR; one for individuals advocating for the programs; and a Hall of Fame award for companies with long-term success in the programs.

The nomination window closes Jan. 31. To submit a nomination, visit tibbetts.challenge.gov for the companies and individuals awards, and sbirhof.challenge.gov  for the Hall of Fame award.
