A proposed 5,000-square-foot restaurant in a commercial complex that is under construction near South Windsor’s Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk is being pitched as a Sally’s Apizza.
A Massachusetts-based company, O’Evergreen LLC, an affiliate of O’Connell Development Group in Holyoke, is developing the property, which is at the corner of Cedar Avenue and Buckland Road.
Plans show three new buildings on the 6-acre property, including a Starbucks with a drive-thru and a Chipotle restaurant, along with two other spaces.
There is an existing PeoplesBank banking center on the parcel.
A new zoning application filed with the town labels the restaurant as “SALLY’S APIZZA.” Also, exterior design plans show Sally’s Apizza’s signature red and white brick pattern on the chimney.
The sign in the rendering merely says, “Future Pizza Co.”

The lease is reportedly still being negotiated. The developer did not immediately respond to an inquiry from the Hartford Business Journal.
The South Windsor location would be Sally’s Apizza’s fifth restaurant in the state. The chain, which originated in New Haven’s Wooster Square, is known for its thin-crusted pizza baked in coal-fired brick ovens.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will review the application at its next meeting, tentatively set for Tuesday.
In addition to New Haven, Sally’s Apizza has restaurants in Stamford, Fairfield and Woburn, Massachusetts.
New locations are planned in Wethersfield, Norwalk, Newington and Boston Seaport, Massachusetts, and in the Jordan’s Furniture store at Westfarms mall in West Hartford.
