Sacred Heart University is underway with a $4 million renovation of its landmark Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts on the school’s Fairfield campus.
Boston architect Spagnolo, Gisness & Associates Inc. designed the facelift of the half-century-old hall, which will keep its 776 seats but double its lobby size, a school spokeswoman said Thursday.
Contractor Turner Construction is working toward a late summer completion, she said.
The expansion follows major interior improvements made to the acoustics and heating and cooling system about five years ago.
