South Windsor’s All-Phase Electric Supply Co. has installed a publicly accessible electric vehicle charging station.
The company was one of the first businesses to receive a $2,000 to $5,000 grant from the state of Connecticut to install charging stations.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy wants 200 public charging stations in the state so owners of electric vehicles are no more than 15 minutes away from a station. The grant money for the charging stations comes from the state’s settlement with Hartford conglomerate Northeast Utilities to approve its merger with Boston utility company NStar.
CT Electric Car, a subsidiary of Newington Electric Co., installed the station at All-Phase.
