Responding to the ongoing epidemic in heroin and opioid addiction across Connecticut, Rushford, which treats addiction and mental health issues in Connecticut, has opened a new facility in Avon to treat adults battling addiction.
Rushford, which is part of the Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health Network, is continuing to add new locations for addiction treatment to address the addiction crisis in Connecticut and across the country. The Avon facility follows the opening of an addiction center in Cheshire in March.
Connecticut is on pace to see an estimated 832 people die of substance abuse overdoses this year – a 19 percent increase from last year, according to a news release from Hartford HealthCare.
Outpatient treatment services available at Rushford in Avon include: medication-assisted treatment, a specialized program for individuals seeking treatment for opiate dependency that has proven to be highly effective; intensive outpatient services; ambulatory detoxification; relapse prevention; individualized therapy; family education and counseling; and integrative therapies.
The new Avon location is at 35 Tower Lane.
