Rogers inks Northeastern partnership

A new research center at Northeastern University in Boston will bear the name of Killingly materials and components maker Rogers Corp., the company announced.

The Rogers Innovation Center will be located at Northeastern’s George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security in Burlington, Mass.

The center’s purpose is to more quickly commercialize basic research to align with market needs, Rogers said.

Rogers develops and makes materials used in high-frequency printed circuits, power electronics, impact protection and sealing applications. Northeastern said what it brings to the partnership a range of materials research expertise, from super-strong carbon fibers to metamaterials designed for invisibility cloaking.
