Rocky Hill retail building sells for $2M

A 30,326-square-foot retail building hosting an American Freight furniture and appliance store in Rocky Hill recently sold for $2 million.

Fredric Singer, of West Hartford, sold the 1965-vintage retail building on a 1.4-acre plot at 1930 Silas Deane Highway, to 1930 Silas Deane LLC, in a $2 million sale recorded by the town on May 15.

Singer was principal of Puritan Juvenile Furniture, which had previously operated out of the Rocky Hill building.

The principal of the buyer is Martin Sabel, of Airmont, New York. Attempts to reach Sabel and a representative of American Freight were not immediately successful Monday.
