Harrington Engineering Inc. is getting $1 million in financial support from the state’s economic development arm and a local bank to aid job growth at the Rocky Hill firm.
The Connecticut Development Authority and People’s United Bank are partners in a business loan participation to Harrington Engineering to use as working capital for job growth.
“Harrington Engineering is a wonderful example of a small, green-thinking Connecticut-based company focused on sustainable development,” Gov. M. Jodi Rell said today. “We want to help this company, and others like it, to grow jobs and prosper in an industry that is very important to Connecticut’s future.”
Incorporated in 1991, Harrington is a private professional engineering and service provider in Connecticut and Rhode Island. Working with an affiliate, Legnos & Cramer, Harrington bundles  “green” designs with professional service and building offerings.
Harrington made Inc. magazine’s 2008 list of fastest-growing private companies in America, ranking 18th among engineering firms on the list, the state said.
