As expected, Rockville Bank and United Bank today announced they will consolidate four Connecticut branches as a result of their planned merger.
The banks will merge offices that are a mile apart or closer in Ellington, Enfield, Manchester and Suffield.
Rockville’s 12 Main St. branch in Ellington will be consolidated into United’s branch at 287 Somers Road. United’s branch at 268 Hazard Ave. in Enfield will be consolidated into Rockville’s 231 Hazard Ave. branch. United’s 23 Main St. branch in Manchester will be consolidated into Rockville’s 768 North Main St. branch. And United’s 112 Mountain Road branch in Suffield will be consolidated into Rockville’s 275 Mountain Road branch.
The banks said employees in the closing branches would be offered comparable positions in the same or nearby towns.
Rockville and United won’t ask for regulatory approvals for the moves until their merger, expected in the first half of 2014, is complete.
