Vernon’s Rockville High School won online voting for the third annual Connecticut Light & Power Live Green — Win Green contest.
In voting open to the public throughout March at CL&P’s website, Rockville’s entry received nearly 17 percent of the record 20,615 votes cast.
As the People’s Choice, Rockville High is automatically in the finals, which are being judged by a distinguished panel of Connecticut educators and environmental leaders.
The winning high school will receive a $20,000 award from CL&P to help fund their proposed project. Three other schools will be chosen as runners-up and will each receive $5,000 awards from the company for their projects.
Winners will be announced later this month.
