Rockville Financial’s 2Q net soars

Vernon lender Rockville Financial earned $2.9 million in the second quarter, the result of a balance-sheet makeover and greater fee income.

For three months ended June 30, the parent of Rockville Bank netted 11 cents a diluted share vs. $43,000, or 13 cents a share, netted the same period a year ago.

The holding company also declared a cash dividend of 9 cents a share to be paid Aug. 9 to stockholders on record by Aug. 1.

The bank finished the quarter with $1.9 billion in assets vs. $1.75 billion a year earlier.
