Rockville Bank has hired three veteran bankers from its intrastate rivals to shore up the Vernon lender’s audit and commercial-lending operations, authorities say.
Parent Rockville Financial Inc. announced Thursday the hiring of Elizabeth (Betsy) Wynnick as internal audit director; Carla Balesano as executive credit officer of commercial banking; and Melanie Joy as senior commercial real estate banking officer. Wynnick and Balesano are also senior vice presidents; Joy is vice president.
A Milford resident, Wynnick previously was with former NewAlliance Bank, now First Niagara Bank.
Balesano was at TD Bank in Glastonbury for five years.

Joy spent 20 years with Liberty Bank in Middletown.
